Even in the earlier months of the last year, although the search results fluctuated, the Chicago Bears were still the most searched team in the month of April, due to the NFL draft. The searches for the Bears saw a rapid decline after the first week of January 2021, perhaps due to the Bears defeat to the New Orlean Saints, consequently eliminating their chances of a Superbowl win.
The searches for all three teams were at a low from the months of May to August, due to the off-season and the global pandemic.
The Chicago Bulls saw an increase in searches in late April, which could be due to the release of ‘The Last Dance’, an American sports documentary produced by ESPN and Netflix. The documentary focuses on the career of Michael Jordan, and his last season with the Chicago Bulls.
In comparison to the other two teams, the Chicago Blackhawks were the least searched team throughout the last 12 months, however they saw an increase in searches during the month of July, as their annual fan convention was cancelled due to the pandemic.
