Top 10 Recreational Parks in Chicago

With summer looming around the corner, lets’s look at ten recreational parks in the city of Chicago, where you can have picnics, play different sports with your friends, or just enjoy the view and catch some fresh air. Whether you’re living in the Loop or in one of the many neighborhoods of Chicago, there are plenty of parks located across the city to explore.

Sheridan Park is located in the heart of the UIC campus, and its three story facility features an indoor swimming pool, a gym and boxing center. Furthermore the artificial turf field is a great place to play baseball or soccer. It is also home to different activities such as scavenger hunts and sports leagues.

Washington Park covers over 345 acres of land, and offers a wide range of activities to keep one entertained. With over 7 different sports facilities, this park also has botanical gardens and a lagoon.

Millennium Park is one of Chicago’s most well known tourist attractions. This park provides a scenic view of the city landscape, and is home to the famous Chicago Bean. There is also an ice rink which is perfect for the winter time and an amphitheater to enjoy lives shows and performances.

Lincoln Park is Chicago’s largest city park. It is very close to Lake Michigan, and offers a great view of both the city and the lake. In addition to the well-known zoo, the park also features a history museum, two beaches and a lagoon for rowing and canoeing.
